Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to provide essential functionality and to serve advertisements.

|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for basic site functionality | Session management, language preferences, authentication |
| Advertising | Used to serve relevant advertisements | Google AdSense cookies, advertising partner cookies |
Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit our site, you will see a cookie consent banner. You can:
- Accept all cookies – enables full functionality including personalized advertising
- Reject non-essential cookies – disables advertising cookies while maintaining essential site functionality
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.
Mobile Application
The HealthUnits mobile app is designed with privacy as a priority. The app works fully offline and does not require an account. All personal data you enter into our calculators stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Local Data Storage
The mobile app stores data locally on your device using an SQLite database. This data never leaves your device. The following information is stored:
- Calculation history – a rolling log of your recent calculations, including calculator type, inputs, and results (limited to 250 entries by default)
- Saved favorites – calculations and calculator tools you bookmark for quick access, including their full inputs and results
- User preferences – your preferred units (weight, height, volume, distance), default age and gender, language, theme, and history limit settings
No account or login is required. There is no cloud sync — all data resides exclusively on your device.
Health and Fitness Data
When you use our calculators, you may enter sensitive health and fitness data that is stored locally in your calculation history. This may include:
- Body measurements – weight, height, age, gender, body fat percentage, waist and hip circumference
- Strength data – one-rep max lifts, training weights, strength scores (Wilks, DOTS, IPF GL)
- Nutrition data – caloric intake, macronutrient ratios, protein targets
- Cardio and fitness data – heart rate, VO2 max, running pace, race times
- Alcohol consumption data – drink quantities, blood alcohol content estimates
This data is processed entirely on your device. We do not have access to, collect, or transmit any of your health and fitness data.
Mobile Advertising
The mobile app displays banner advertisements through Google AdMob on all calculator pages.
Information collected by Google AdMob may include:
- Device advertising identifiers – IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android
- Ad interaction data – impressions, clicks, and engagement metrics
- Device information – device model, operating system version, screen size
In the European Economic Area and UK, the app uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to obtain your consent before serving personalized advertisements, in compliance with GDPR and the TCF v2.0 framework. You can choose between personalized and non-personalized ads.
You can permanently remove all advertisements by purchasing the "Remove Ads" option within the app.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS 14 and later, the app requests your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). This identifier may be used by Google AdMob for personalized advertising.
You can choose to allow or deny tracking. If you deny tracking, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be personalized based on your activity across other apps and websites.
You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Tracking.
In-App Purchases
The app offers a one-time "Remove Ads" purchase as a non-consumable in-app purchase. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play).
We store the following purchase information locally on your device:
- Ad-free status – whether you have purchased the ad-free upgrade
- Transaction identifier – a platform-specific transaction ID for purchase verification and support
- Purchase date – when the purchase was made
This purchase data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your payment method, billing address, or Apple/Google account information.
Mobile Data Retention
All mobile app data is stored locally on your device and under your full control:
- Calculation history is automatically limited to your configured maximum (default: 250 entries). Older entries are permanently deleted when this limit is exceeded.
- Favorites are kept until you explicitly remove them.
- You can delete individual history entries, clear all history, remove favorites, or reset your preferences at any time from within the app.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data.
